Pendragon screenshots

The Pendragon Group own a lot of the main car dealerships in the UK including Stratstone and Evans Halshaw. They needed a content managed site to help recruit staff across their dealerships, garages and head office. The site was part of an advertising campaign and I led the web team on the design and build.

This was one of the first responsive sites I’d worked on and I was involved in most stages of it’s delivery, from initial planning, information architecture and design, to working with a developer helping integrate the site into a job search and application system.

Information Architecture

From user research we discovered that the site needed to be structured in a way that allowed different audiences to search the site by dealership, job type or brand of vehicle.

The new architecture and homepage design accommodated this and allowed quick entry points with clear signposting leading to a filtered job search and location finder.

User Journey

We learnt it was important to use the brand names of the vehicles and dealerships rather than that of Pendragon, as this is what users will be considering when searching for jobs.

The user journey we developed informed both the site structure and homepage design. I designed the application system templates, enabling it to be seamlessly integrated and improving the user experience.
